What the ZRC Wealth Management Team Has Been Up To

NorCal Financial Planning Association FPA Conference

The annual NorCal FPA conference in San Francisco consistently sells out and this year’s conference in May was no exception. The conference’s “Power of Community” theme emphasized the importance of collaboration and support within our industry. Ryan and Barry were happy they attended.

During the conference, Ryan was able to meet with Michael Kitces, one of the financial planning industry’s thought leaders. Kitces has been a driving force in shaping the field, and his expertise and insights have had a profound impact. Meeting Michael in person was inspirational and informative.

This year has been filled with amazing opportunities to celebrate milestone birthdays, retirement announcements, and work achievements with my clients. I’ve been fortunate enough to accompany them on incredible adventures, such as trips to Belize, wine country, and even my recent thrilling four-day river rafting excursion down the Rogue River in Oregon. Witnessing firsthand the joy and fulfillment my clients experience when they achieve their dreams has been a constant source of inspiration for me.

Ryan’s wife, Cheryl Nobusada, was recently appointed as Board President of the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek. Cheryl began as a nursery volunteer and has spent time volunteering on various Garden events since she and Ryan became members in 2015. With this position, Cheryl combines her passion for gardening with her strong desire to help others live a more beautiful and fulfilling life.

In October, I have an exciting adventure planned in Dubai! I’m thrilled to visit the magnificent Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world, and enjoy the breathtaking views from the luxurious lounge on the 154th floor. Another highlight will be exploring the fascinating Deep Dive Dubai, the world’s deepest pool, where I’ll immerse myself in an underwater town. Indulging in authentic Arabian cuisine at renowned restaurants is a must, and I can’t wait for thrilling excursions like 4-wheeling on the mesmerizing sand dunes and experiencing the adrenaline rush of a 1-kilometer zipline through the city.

In May, I gathered with 28 friends & family to hike the legendary Dipsea trail in Marin County. Braving rainy conditions, the group made the 8-mile trek from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding landscape with towering redwoods, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls.

The Dipsea Trail is famous for the Dipsea Race, an annual trail race that has been held since 1905. The race follows the trail and attracts participants from around the world. It is one of the oldest trail races in the United States.

One of my passions is COOKING! I may have, in fact, been a chef in my past life. 🙂 I enjoy making all types of meals – whether it’s a large, several course meal or a simple pack-n-go picnic you take to the beach.

For my birthday last year, Pat and Jayden gave me a cooking class at Sur La Table in the Montgomery Shopping Center here in Santa Rosa. Jayden also enjoys cooking, so we booked a class together for a Saturday evening. We prepared a hearty steak, crab cakes, lemon & garlic aioli, asparagus, and a delicious crème brûlée for dessert.

Jayden and I had an absolute blast hanging out together. There is something special about mother and son time doing something we both really enjoy. It was hands down one of the best gifts I have ever received. I find that many times, gifts of time and experiences far outweigh a material gift that might sit on your shelf or wind up in your closet. Spending time with the people you love the most, doing activities that bring you joy provides indelible memories that are gifts for the soul.
